What does it mean to be anti-racist? Where do we begin to talk about it? If you would like to explore these and other questions in a respectful and inclusive environment, this book club is for you.
Join us online where we will discuss So You Want to Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo over four consecutive weeks. Examining different chapters each week, we'll explore the concepts presented, how they impact our lives today, and how we can affect change for the better.
Book club participants will be loaned a copy of the book for the duration of the program. Once you have registered, pick the book up from the Library’s Information Desk during our opening hours.
The Library endeavours to make our physical and online spaces safe and inclusive for all, and to support our community in its efforts to become more informed and aware. Behaviour that is disrespectful and/or antagonistic and does not abide by the Library’s Rules of Conduct will not be tolerated, and the individual will be removed from the meeting and not allowed to continue participation in the Anti-Racist Book Club.
This book club takes place over four consecutive Wednesdays on January 27, February 3, 10, and 17. When you register, you will be signed up for all four sessions. Please visit the January 27 entry to register for all four weeks.
This workshop will be held on Zoom. Once you have registered for the program, we will email you the Zoom meeting link.
