Writers in Our Midst #24 - This event has already occurred

Notebook, Pen, a Cup of Coffee

Event Details:

Writers in our Midst (WiOM) is a popular reading series of fiction, poetry, and performance. This family-friendly affair is back with WiOM #24. Join us for a speculative fiction edition and a chance to hear and meet local authors.

The writers who will be at the next Writers in our Midst are:

Carmy Stubbs

Carmy Stubbs, reader, writer, storyteller, and poet, is a lover of the Word and its power for transformation. She is the author of The Six Knowings of ASAIRA, where all her loves - the poems, the magic, the storytelling, the creative force of the Heart, the profound mysteries of life and the search for the Divine - weave themselves alchemically through text and illustration. She lives in Port Coquitlam, with her husband, Antonio, and the newest member of the family, their little doggy, Milo. You can find more about Carmy Stubbs on her website.

Gabrielle Lefay

Gabrielle Lefay has lived all her life in the Lower Mainland and studied English literature and creative writing at UBC. She worked in integrative health for many years. The Shield of Light: A Fairy Tale for Our Times is her first novel. She can be contacted at theshieldoflight1111@gmail.com.

Debra Purdy Kong

After publishing eleven mystery novels and novellas, Debra Purdy Kong has delved into another genre she loves: fantasy. For the past three years, she’s focused on writing a multi-generational, urban fantasy set in British Columbia and York, England, which she plans to turn into a trilogy.

You can find out more about Debra Purdy Kong through her website, Facebook, blog, and newsletter.

Krista Wallace

Krista Wallace is a fantasy writer, musician, audiobook narrator, actor, podcaster, mother, Gran, lover of pie, dark chocolate, and fine single malt scotch. She writes and records in a closet in Port Coquitlam, and can often be heard singing with the big band FAT Jazz, or her duo, the Itty Bitty Big Band. You can find out more about Krista Wallace through her website, Universal Book Link, Facebook, or on Instagram: @thekristawallace

Gisela Woldenga

Gisela Woldenga is an author and an actress living in Coquitlam. She is the author of numerous short stories, children's stories, poems, and nine recent fiction novels. She is a long-time member of the Tri-City Wordsmiths and the Port Moody Creative Writing Group.
